I’ve been playing Phantom Abyss since it first entered early access and I will not be stopping anytime soon now it’s officially launched. The adrenaline-fuelled gameplay gives me so much joy every time I do a run, whether I’m playing it casually or seriously trying to challenge myself.
The competitive multiplayer aspects come from challenging either friends or other players to recover dropped significant loot, such as keys or relics. The big deal with Phantom Abyss is that the levels are randomized, with the idea that a temple exists until someone claims the relic at its center.
Now runs have this thing where at the end of a level it adds a random challenge to your run. You have no control over witch modifier you get and some are way worse than others. sometimes runs feel very easy because you get lucky and others just feel like ♥♥♥♥ because you got bad luck.
Phantom Phantom Abyss Gameplay Abyss is a game where players dive into a series of procedurally-generated temples where they have to reach the end and secure the golden idol. Players will be faced with a wide variety of classic traps along the way, as well as facing off against the Guardian of the temple who will try to hinder the players progress.
This form of multiplayer also means that you can travel into the dangerous dungeons with friends and try to complete the runs with support rather than entirely alone.

If you are using lightning or ice whip, you can probably stay ahead a good bit longer, but it is still a very fast guardian.
My biggest gripes with this action platformer concern the temperamental physics, repetitive maps, and lengthy load times.
